About us

The story behind
Dagbesteding LCC

I, Yvonne Verweij, was trained as a socio-cultural and social worker. In addition, I completed several courses in coaching and creative therapy.

At some point, I started making craft supplies, which I sold at fairs and markets. Thanks to that hobby, I managed to eventually establish a shop of my own.

Despite the fact that I thoroughly enjoy being creative, I started to miss taking care of others. That’s how I came up with the idea of opening up a learning and working centre.

My daughter Soraya has a learning disability. Since it’s not easy for her to enter the regular job market, she helps out regularly at my craft supply store.

At first, she kept herself busy behind the scenes, restocking the shop among other things. Now, she has exceeded her initial abilities and even helps out customers with payments and such. Our customers often tell her that she’s doing a very well.

I enjoy watching her grow and want to give other (young) adults similar opportunities in order to learn to work more independently.
